Tilted we are.
          Our northern hemisphere tilts
          away from the sun
          its farthest from our sun
          Hibernal Solstice
And we stand still
          27 minutes past the hour,
3 minutes before the hour in Newfoundland and Labrador:
Listen to hope in quiet stillness.
Absorb the peace of darkness.
Blessed by the night we are.
Blessed by shadow and the cooling moment of tilt.
This earth-sacred moment of pause
          Longest Night
