Many passages and stories in the Bible give background to our intercultural commitment. At Pentecost, God’s Spirit creates the intercultural church which leaves cultural and linguistic identities in place, but unifies them in the creation of a new, and larger, expression of common humanity. Pentecost made the word of God accessible to diverse cultural and linguistic communities.
