Moderator Jordan Cantwell urges everyone to watch and share this powerful three-minute video, “Letter to a Terrorist,” made by a group of young Muslims in Winnipeg.

The Rev. Dr. Loraine MacKenzie Shepherd of Westworth United Church in Winnipeg sent the video to the Moderator, noting that the group used the Assiniboine Forest as a backdrop as they make powerful statements about terrorism and how it affects the Muslim community.

Filmmaker Nilufer Rahman told the CBC that said she filmed the video in response to recent world events involving Islamic extremists. Rahman said she wanted to tackle the fear of Muslims that has surfaced in light of the Paris attacks, as well as show how she and her fellow Muslims are just as confused, saddened and angered by the recent violence as everyone else.
