Bridges to Hope is committed to reducing the effects of poverty on individuals and families.
Bridges to Hope in St. John’s, Newfoundland, one of our community ministry partners, is committed to reducing the effects of poverty on individuals and families. The centre’s Community Kitchen programs are in great demand, with many individuals and community service and public health organizations signing up for four- to six-week sessions. In 2014 the Food Pantry served 8,200 people, 1,800 of which were children.
The Bag to School and Passion for School Projects initiatives continue to be in great demand. Bag to School provides 900 school bags filled with curriculum-based supplies for students in grades K–12 and Adult Basic Education. Passion for Projects provides supplies for heritage and science fairs for students throughout the English School District.
The programs at Bridges to Hope are successful because of the dedicated staff and volunteers who give of their time and talents—a true community endeavour.
We are thankful for our Mission & Service gifts that support dozens of community ministries across Canada like Bridges to Hope!
