Office of Vocation: Response Committee

Office of Vocation: Response Committee

Job Number:
Opening/Closing Date:
February 7, 2019 to March 4, 2019

The Office of Vocation is the body in the United Church’s structure that supports the accreditation of ministry personnel. To carry out its responsibilities, the Office consists of the Board of Vocation and several committees and commissions. The Response Committee is one of these committees.

The Response Committee determines the best process to follow with respect to concerns raised about ministry personnel. It ensures that there are trained and supported reviewers, investigators, consultants, conflict resolution facilitators, and people with other expertise as required.

At this time, the committee is currently seeking three individuals and is particularly in need of lay people, as well as ministry personnel who are diaconal or designated lay ministers. It is a priority of this committee to include people who bring the lived experience of being racialized or Indigenous or are from other marginalized communities not currently present on the committee.
