The Office of Vocation is the body in the United Church’s structure that supports the accreditation of ministry personnel. To carry out its responsibilities, the Office consists of the Board of Vocation and several committees and commissions. The Credentialing Committee is one of these committees.
The Credentialing Committee responds to applications from ministry personnel for the following, determining credentials according to the policy and processes of the General Council: intentional interim ministers, educational supervisors, readmission, ministry partners, admission applicants, military chaplains and other chaplaincies as required
At this time we are seeking four individuals to serve on the Credentialing Committee. The committee is particularly in need of lay people, ministry personnel who have taken interim ministry training, and people who are familiar with educational supervision. Assets include a background in intentional interim ministry or chaplaincy; interview skills, including listening, asking open-ended questions; and discerning the leading of the Spirit.
