Description

The Healing Programs Working Group supports the vision of whole and balanced Indigenous communities by providing grants for education, culture, and language initiatives for healing and leadership development. The working group receives and discerns applications for several grants, including The Healing Fund, the Alvin Dixon Memorial Bursary, the Dorothy Jenkins Fund, and the Endowment Fund for Indigenous Post-Secondary Education.

We are looking for strategic thinkers, knowledge keepers, and keepers of history. Some members will be former residential school students or their second- or third-generation family members. Members will have a deep commitment to education and leadership development. Youth and young adults, Two-Spirit members, Elders, and urban Indigenous people are encouraged to consider this working group.

Each year there will be a meeting in the spring and in the fall. Additional monthly meetings may occur by video-conference call.
