The channel includes videos of some of our church’s hundreds of community projects, both in Canada and overseas, as well as video messages from our current spiritual leader.

Review the guidelines below to see if your video qualifies and learn how you can submit your content for consideration.

We are creating a revolving collection of dynamic visual stories that reflect the church at its best—healthy congregations, clear theological reflections on life and issues of the day, vibrant leaders, interesting programs, overseas personnel and partners’ work, camps, youth events. Hopefully we’ll have submissions from lots of church and community ministries talking about what they do and why they do it!

Guidelines for Stories Posted to YouTube Channel

1. Reflects the current work and ethos of The United Church of Canada in Canada, directly or through related Canadian and overseas partners.
2. Must be of superior technical quality, clear images, clear audio.
3. Produced by members of the United Church and partners.
4. Any request for donations is only for the Mission and Service Fund or a special emergency appeal from the General Council Office, not individual congregations or community ministries.
5. Must conform to Canadian human rights law and libel/slander guidelines.
6. Needs to be a focused story—have a beginning, middle and end.
7. Must have permissions of people appearing and music rights cleared. Please supply necessary documents.
8. Length: under 10 minutes

In addition to the above requirements, the Multimedia Producer reserves the right to refuse to accept any content submitted for The United Church of Canada's YouTube channel that is not considered suitable for the channel's intended audience.

How to submit your production for consideration

1. Post your video on YouTube.
2. Send the link to Catherine Rodd.
3. Response time may take a few days.
