E-Newsletters Help

This page offers solutions to common problems with our e-newsletters (Emerging Spirit News, Uniting Ministries, United Action for Justice, etc.).

I had trouble subscribing

There are several reasons this might happen, but most often the problem is a mistyped e-mail address or a missing field on the sign-up form.  Double-check all your information, and fill in all fields.  If you still are having problems, please contact the webmaster with details about your issue and we’ll do our best to help.

I didn't receive my newsletter

There are several reasons this might happen, but the most common are:

  1. You did not reply to the confirmation e-mail sent soon after you filled out the subscription form. Simply find the e-mail and reply, and you will receive the next newsletter when it is published.
  2. No newsletter has been published since you subscribed. Not all newsletters publish on a regular basis. Be patient–one could be sent any day now!
  3. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has blocked our newsletter service, which is provided by a company named Protus IP Solutions. Unfortunately, there is little the United Church can do to resolve this problem. You can try to sign up again, using a different e-mail address/domain (a domain is what comes after the @ in your e-mail address), or contact your ISP or e-mail provider and ask them to stop blocking Campaigner.com.

The e-newsletter doesn't look right

Each e-mail program displays content differently. Although we try very hard to ensure our e-newsletters are legible and display correctly, we can't guarantee they will always look right in all applicaitons.

Missing images

Many programs and services now block images by default. You can often select “Display images” at the top of your screen when viewing a message, and all images should appear. To prevent this from happening in future, you can also add the “from” address to your contacts/address book.

Other display problems

If there are other problems, most of our e-newsletters offer a link at the top to view the message in your browser (or in a different tab/window, in the case of webmail applications like Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo!). Selecting this option should display the message as it was originally intended.
