The United Church of Canada/L'Église Unie du Canada
We Have Faith in Our Books!
The United Church Publishing House (UCPH) traces its roots to the Methodist Book Room, which was founded in 1829 and named Ryerson Press in honour of the first editor, Methodist minister and educator Egerton Ryerson.
Since the beginning, The United Church of Canada has published books to meet the spiritual needs of both its members and others. According to the publishing mission statement, the publishing house “is committed to publishing books and resources that help people to engage in Christian ministry, attracting readers, regardless of denomination or faith, in consideration of the spiritual aspects of their lives.”
We live out this mission statement by publishing titles that support, challenge, and inspire. We share our faith and vision within our denomination and beyond with members of partner denominations and secular markets throughout Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain. United Church Publishing House also collaborates with other publishing houses to fulfill this mission through co-production and ecumenical co-operation.
