The United Church of Canada/L'Église Unie du CanadaThere are many ways to participate in the United Church's current appeal to work with the people of Pakistan in the current crisis.
The process for donating to The United Church of Canada’s (the United Church) Pakistan Floods Relief Fund follows guidelines outlined by the Canadian International Development Agency
(CIDA).
Send your designated gift to your local church; your church will issue your income tax receipt.
To qualify for the government matching program
Send your designated gift to the General Council Office at the address below, or donate online (select “Emergency Response” and specify “Pakistan Relief”). Cheques should be made payable to The United Church of Canada and marked "Pakistan Flood Relief Fund." All donations must reach the General Council Office by October 3 to qualify for the government matching program.
Donations made by United Church members, congregations, and pastoral charges to the Pakistan Floods Relief Fund are considered "over and above" gifts to the United Church's wider work, so they are not recorded as part of a congregation/pastoral charge's Mission and Service Fund giving.
As part of The United Church's Emergency Response Fund, 85 percent of your donation will directly fund an emergency response in Pakistan. Fifteen percent will be used to support emergencies that do not receive intense media cover and response. No administration fees will be deducted from your donation.
