Creation is a gift of God. We are called to respect its inherent value and right to protection.
Earth Day (celebrated on April 22 each year) and Earth Sunday are a time to reflect and act for the care of Creation. Find worship resources for Earth Sunday in our Worship section.
On April 29, one week after Earth Day, the People’s Climate Movement’s March for Climate, Jobs, and Justice will take place. People will march to protect their right to clean air, water, land, as well as healthy communities and a world at peace. The People’s Climate Movement offers solutions to the climate crisis that are rooted in racial, social, and economic justice, as well as committed to protecting front-line communities and workers.
The United Church of Canada’s sister denomination, The United Church of Christ, is an official co-sponsor of the climate march. The flagship march will take place in Washington, DC, along with sister marches in other U.S. and Canadian cities (including locations in BC, SK, and ON). View an interactive map of sister marches.
