The United for Peace Campaign, which ran from November 2007 to December 2009, was approved at the 39th General Council 2006 out of grave concern for the situation in Israel Palestine. The scope of the campaign was broadened by the General Council Executive to address violence and the need to work toward just peace in Canada and other parts of the world. A special focus was given to how partners are working for peace in Israel Palestine, Colombia, the Philippines, and for right relations between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Canada.
