A Meeting Place for Youth, Young Adults, and Their Leaders

"Present yourself" at Rendez-vous 2011 to connect with United Church youth and young adults from across the country. Discover exhilarating worship, exciting opportunities for learning, growth, and service, and many examples of excellent youth and young adult ministries. You will be challenged, inspired, and encouraged to "go big" when you go home.

Held in partnership with Emmanuel College and the University of Toronto Multi-faith Centre. Sponsored by the Mission and Service Fund, The United Church of Canada Foundation, and the TD Friends of the Environment.

Degree Credit

The Atlantic School of Theology has partnered with Rendez-vous 2011 to provide credit for participants in their Diploma in Youth Ministry. This credit is available to current students in the AST diploma program, and to incoming students who apply and are accepted within two years of attending Rendez-vous. To receive credit you must provide:

1. Evidence of registration and participation in Rendez-vous 2011.
2. A two-page book review of one of the following: The Godbearing Life (Kenda Creasy Dean), Contemplative Youth Ministry: Practicing the Presence of Jesus (Mark Yaconelli), Family-Based Youth Ministry (Mark DeVries), or Practicing Discernment with Youth: A Transformative Youth Ministry Approach (David F. White).
3. A four- to five-page reflection paper that integrates learning and experience from the Rendez-vous 2011 event with reading on the subject of ministry with youth and/or young adults.

Written assignments are to be submitted (by mail or e-mail) to the Diploma in Youth Ministry office at AST not later than September 30, 2011. For further information, please contact Rob Fennell or the Diploma Director at AST.
