The United Church of Canada/L'Église Unie du CanadaThe United Church of Canada Foundation
* is a federally incorporated, registered charity created to support, at an arm’s length, the work of The United Church of Canada and its partners. The Foundation provides for the future; giving to the Foundation is a way for faithful stewards to devote some of their resources to the next generations of the church. The main vehicles for Foundation gifts are Personal Named Endowment Funds and existing United Church Foundation Endowment Funds.
The United Church of Canada Foundation’s board of directors is accountable for the use of the Foundation’s endowments. The Living Spirit Endowment Fund
* and the Mission Focus Fund
* are intended to support the work of The United Church of Canada, including its General Council, Conferences, presbyteries, congregations, community ministries, and global partners, as well as related institutions such as theological schools, camps, and seniors’ homes. Personal Endowments
* may be directed to the causes, projects, or institutions of the donor’s choice.
The Foundation also helps donors give immediate support to their congregation, the Mission and Service Fund, and other registered charities. The Gift Fund
* program allows a gift to be made anonymously or to be divided among several recipients. Donations of publicly traded securities may be given through the Foundation for a ministry and/or congregation within the United Church.
The Congregational Investment Program
* allows congregations and ministries of the United Church to have the Foundation manage their investments, in co-operation with Fiera Capital Inc., in order to maximize returns.
