When one partner leaves

Gracious God,
we are always in your care.
We look to you for love and strength.
Watch over the _____ family, we pray.
_____ is alone as a parent of his/her children.
Bless him/her with your presence,

and that each day may unfold for _____
with ever greater peace and joy,
through Jesus Christ, we pray.

once chose a partner for life, and is now alone.
Grant him/her the gift of time,
that hurt and bitterness
may be healed by your love,
that despair may be overcome
by the assurance of your presence.
In the name of Jesus, our companion and friend, we pray.

God of infinite love and understanding,
pour out your healing spirit upon _____
as he/she reflects upon the failure
of his/her marriage/life partnership,
and makes a new beginning.
Where there is hurt or bitterness,
grant healing and the ability to put behind
the things that are past.
Where feelings of despair or worthlessness flood in,
nurture hope and confidence,
