The United Church of Canada/L'Église Unie du CanadaJuly 14, 2010
The United Church was recently recognized for outstanding work in video production, graphic design, and writing.
At The Houston World Film Festival, Voices in the Ruins: The Dondi Project and To Build a World: The Asian Rural Institute both won gold in their respective categories. More than 4,500 entries from 37 countries were submitted for the 2009 World Fest, showcasing both independent and commercial films. Both films arise out of our global partners and are being used in animation programs as well as Minutes for Mission.
Mandate magazine won in Best Redesign of a Periodical at APEX 2010. APEX recognizes publication and communication excellence, with close to 4,000 submissions competing in 127 categories, predominantly from Canada and the U.S.
Mandate also won first place for Best Opinion in the Canadian Church Press awards. The winning entry was the column “When We Boycott” by Julie Graham, which appeared in the November 2009 issue.
Congratulations to all who were involved!
