The Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT) was established in January 1934 as a fellowship of churches and Christian organizations. It was named the Tanganyika Missionary Council until 1964, when it adopted its current name. The CCT has since grown in membership to 15 national churches and 14 church-related organizations.
