The Board of Five Oaks Centre is pleased to announce that the new Acting Director of Five Oaks—effective January 1, 2010—will be the Rev. Pegi Ridout of Hamilton. Her appointment is for the remainder of Mardi Tindal’s three-year term as Moderator of The United Church.
Pegi is an ordained United Church minister who has served the church for approximately 30 years in a wide variety of congregational, presbytery, Conference, and General Council roles. She is a “trainer” with the Interim Ministry Network, and having served as interim minister in several congregations within Hamilton Conference, brings to this position the analytical skills as well as the theory and practice of “transitional ministry.” Her passion for the work of Five Oaks, her commitment to nurturing leadership for the future church, and her experience within the courts of the United Church at all levels make here a good match for the unique needs of Five Oaks Centre for strong leadership during what can only be called a time of transition. Pegi lives in Hamilton and, beginning in January, she plans to become a daily commuter to and from Five Oaks.
