United Church Partners Call for Peace in Palestine and Israel

In solidarity with partners in the Middle East, The United Church of Canada supports the cry for peace expressed in statements issued by the Patriarchs and the Heads of Churches in Jerusalem
* and the World Council of Churches* regarding the devastating situation in Gaza. Partners in the region express their deep sorrow and sadness at the ongoing violence that is causing tremendous suffering to Palestinians and Israelis. They urge churches and people of good will around the world to pray for peace, and to call for an end to the killing and destruction.
