Women within the United Church have been forming UCW groups since the organization was formally inaugurated on January 1st, 1962 through the amalgamation of the Woman's Missionary Society (WMS) and the Woman's Association (WA).
These guidelines [PDF: 72 pp/1.8 MB] explain the purpose, structure, responsibilities, committees, and other details of UCW groups at all levels: national, Conference, presbyterial, and pastoral charge. A print version is also available to order from UCRDstore.
The Agatha Kaasa Bursary Fund was established to help women attend courses that further the work of the church. Any woman who is part of The United Church of Canada and is not in paid accountable ministry is welcome to apply. Visit the webpage for more details.
